The story so far.....
About My Work
My artwork is mainly concerned with psychological and emotional concepts; I enjoy combining symbolism (like that found in everyday objects that surround us to which our subconscious mind gives deeper meaning) and archetypal figures strewn through many of the world’s myths and legends.
The style that I am most fond of and the one I use in Photoshop pieces is based on a combination of Victorian collage and decoupage, crossed with mixed medium painting techniques like those used by modern fantasy artists.
Photoshop Art
I am a great exponent of photoshop and as such feel it is capable of creating some very beautiful pieces. I love the process of building up layers of images textures and lighting effects and allowing them to flow and merge with each other to create something new.
Vector Art
Vector imagery is something I also enjoy with its sharp lines and smooth gradients. I find it useful for concepts that just don't lend themselves well to photoshop. I find my vector work tends to take a harder line then my photoshop projects although this isn't always the case.
At the moment.....
So what am I doing right now? I am currently studying at Newry City Institute in Northern Ireland, (the course is called Foundation Degree in Interactive Multimedia). Which I am enjoying immensely. With it I am hoping to enter the field of professional web design and illustration. With this course I will be knowledgeable in design concepts, as well as the hardware and software implications like programming languages.
I suppose my core belief is in persistence, if you want something push for it, and push for it hard. Even when the world kicks you, and the world kicks hard. You just gotta get up and tell yourself it's worth it, even going to college was a victory of sorts. All i'm gonna say is some people stood in my way and I had to fight to be standing here.
